The attraction of Silver City is that it's far from anything (except everything). The disadvantage is that it's far from anything. As a site for a retreat , it's ideal once you get there, but getting there takes some effort.
Located in the high desert of Southwest New Mexico. Silver City is not far from Mexico, not far from Arizona, and not far from Texas. El Paso is the closest major airport. When people think of New Mexico, they usually think of Santa Fe or Albuquerque. Silver City is as far from Santa Fe as you can get in any way you can imagine. It's also many miles from Albuquerque.
The Agave Ridge Retreat site is about 10 miles north of Silver City and several hundred feet higher. It's on Highway 15, on the way to the Gila Wilderness, the first area reserved as wilderness in the United States. The official wilderness is 35 miles beyond the property, but there are isolated spots in the Gila National Forest just beyond the driveway. We're at the end of the power and phone lines.
How do you get there?
